Talking Axe Warrior with Tactics Sheild?

I was wondering if anyone has a nice Axe Mastery with Tactics Build?

I have a Nice Tactics Sheild and a Nice Axe. Both Perfect. But All the Builds I have seen use Strength.

Just wondering if there are any builds out there...

Those builds use str for a reason...

you get to use flail/frenzy (i would advise flail in pve, frenzy in pvp), some of the best IASes in the game...

Also it's quite easy to get a perf str shield

Tactics sucks, there's no reason to use it.

Keep your Tactics shield - there are a few farming and running builds that use Tactics. You can get great Strength shields from collectors - what I use.

There is a build or two that work with tactics....you can do just fine with a tactics shield.

[healing signet] is a fine enough self heal if you really need one.
[soldiers strike][drunken blow][none shall pass] even [watch yourself] in PvE is now usable.

There are much better STR based builds, but nothing realy horrible about running a tactics build, just make certain your Elite is from Axe mastery and your running an IAS.

If someone can tell me how to post builds using template codes, I have a couple for you.

9 Str +1 Minor
9 Tac +1 Minor
12 Axe +1hat+2Maj

Disrupting Chop
Exe
Evisc
Flurry
Rush
Watch Yourself!
Healing Signet
RezSig

Very nice generic build. Feel free to switch Rush for something like an energy skill from your second profession. Whats nice about this build is you can Flurry to your heart's content, because it's your only ESkill. The points in Str is for the inherent armor pen.

This is a super old build, though. If I find/think of a better one, I'll post it.

Drop Flurry for Frenzy or Flail and the res sig can go for another axe attack or utillity such as [splinter weapon]

Never use Frenzy in PvE, it's too unpredictable and draining on the monks. Flail is good, you cna usually charge up Rush and cancel the Flail with Rush when it's time to move to the next group.

Please don't drop Rez Sig, unless you plan to only group with henchmen/heroes. Maybe thats just my opinion, though. Too many times missions have been failed because 'rezsig sucks, strong warrior needs not rez monks'

your entire argument fell apart here.

Frenzy is still the best IAS you can have on a warrior.

Frenzy is still the best IAS you can have on a warrior.

Not when you're taking damage.

Unless you're getting Prot Spirited, an errant ele bolt can seriously endanger a warrior.

It's a good skill, you just really shouldn't put it on your PvE bar unless you've got 3 monks, a Prot Spiriter, or you're ninja with your cancel stance.

Edit: Btw, I'm just speaking from my own viewpoint and opinion. imo Frenzy has no reasonable place in PvE play. Too dangerous. Do whatever you like, though. Considering the guy we're giving advice to doesn't seem like a 3-year vet or anything, I doubt he's superleetgodmode with cancel stances or noticing when an Ele is about to hit him with a Bolt. And if he IS a 3-year vet with godmode cancelling and tabbing skills... Why is he asking for builds?

Edit2: Furthermore, I don't think the fellow was asking for a redux of the eternal Frenzy vs Every Other Stance argument, so, I'll resign from that discussion.

Another good tactics skill, depending on the area, is 'Shields Up!'. Can be really handy. Thrill of Victory is fun, too, imo, if you are really itching for a tactics-based attack.

true true, theres no reason not to use flail in pve. frenzy is to dangerous, no need to get one shotted by an ele boss.

Why 3 monks? do the monks you play with suck at pre-protting or something?
There is nothing wrong with frenzy in pve. If your using a human monk then call whenver you use it, if your using a hero monk then bind their PS to your keyboard and problem solved.

(if you have a gaming keyboard you can even macro a target self, hero cast prot spirit and you use frenzy to one skill )

Frenzy iz gud if you're manly and brave.
Good warriors Frenzy, bad warriors need 3 monk backlines.

Really, Frenzy is fine in PvE if you're not a total utter moron.

Anyho, on-topic - I'd just run with 8 less armour and a cool shield rather than gimp my build. Good build > +8 armour.
With [["Save Yourselves!"], any real reason to spec Tactics kinda died.

Or you could even spec 8+1 Tactics, and not use any Tactics skills. It's all good.

I usually Hench/Hero, and I really don't see a problem with an all-adrenaline build using Flurry, or Flail/Rush combo with Splinter support. It's just a lot safer, especially considering we're trying to suggest builds to an (assuming) inexperienced warrior.

And I'm not harshing Frenzy, it's just why bother calling it everytime you charge into battle when it's just easier for everyone involved to use one of the other stance options, right?

Just trying to help the OP with my suggestions, all my posts are keeping in mind that we're suggesting a build for someone who is asking for help, not an experienced pro.

I don't see any reason to take frenzy/rush over flail/rush in PvE other than look cool for using frenzy.
I've almost never had the situation where I need to chase something and not being able due to flail, even in HM (where anyway frenzy won't change much since mobs have 25% IMS).
It's fine but really when you can walk through anything by using flail I don't see the point of taking risks with frenzy.

On topic :P change for a strength shield or run it with 8al but don't waste points in a worthless attribute line

I want to point out that flurry is balls for a warrior since a lot of damage comes from auto attacks and not attack skills like sins. I can't remember the thread but someone did the numbers that you only gain more adrenaline but do the same damage (faster but in smaller brackets which is more suspectible to prot). Stick to flail and frenzy isn't terrible for pve, preprot isn't the end of the world. 3 monk backline makes me lulz...I use 1 Rit 1 Monk in PvE so I can have splinter tbh.

The whole calling its useage only applies to an inexperienced player. If your with a good monk and they know you have it, then they should be watching out for it anyway.
I also didn't say frenzy should always be used. Just that there is nothing wrong with using it in pve like some posters seid.
If you can use it well then you may as well, because it is better than flail most of the time.
If you can't then why not learn?
If you still can't then don't bother, you never know till you have tried though.

To heck with Frenzy - Flail is good enough for PVE.

And what's this about calling Frenzy? Vent or Team Speak? Maybe if you have a select group of REALLY serious PVE players that you team with all the time - I've tried TS once or twice in the 33 months I've been playing but no one else I knew used it. I'm pretty sure most casual players don't use them. I'd be willing to bet that 75% of GW players have no idea what Vent or TS is.

Ignore the last paragraph. Thx
